Today I'm going to be reviewing November 9. This was actually my second Colleen Hoover book, I didn't review the first one, and I want to read more. The way Colleen writes her characters and there stories make for a really interesting and different read.
Out of the books I've read by her I can say that her tone feels very sad and tragic on one page, but really funny and cute on the next. From reading about her other books I can also say that most of her books seem to contain some sort of tragic and sad event that changes one or usually both of the main characters.
Any way November 9, I really love the characters in this, the moment we met them I loved their thought process and how sweet they are. I can't get over some of the sarcastic lines that the characters spout sometimes, and their tragic backgrounds.
The story centres around two people who meet on November 9th every year. That's all you should really know apart from that it is a coming of age/love story. Just diving in without knowing much is the best way to read it.
As the story progresses we learn more about what happened and why to the characters, but it's not until the very end that we really learn what ties them together. Another trope in Colleen's books is the fact that one of the characters knows the other character because of the 'sad tragic event', but we don't learn how until the very end.

I straight away assumed Ben had some connection to Fallon because that's the way it's done in Colleen's books.
But to know he set the fire that basically started all of this, that kind of surprised me. I loved how towards the end we finally got to know more about Ben's past, because almost instantaneously we know all about Fallon's and though we get Ben's POV, we never fully hear his back story.
It was so sad to find out that his mum had killed herself, and because the account was from Ben's POV we really got a feel for what he was thinking, and watching him break down like that. So emotional, all the feels.
I loved Fallon's realisation that she didn't want to pursue acting and that, in fact, she wanted to teach people to act.
One of my favourite parts was when Ben got the tattoo, the scene was fantastically done and hilarious to picture and read. But, what I really loved about it was the back story to why he got and chose that particular tattoo. It was really sweet.
Learning about why Kyle punched Ben that day gave me a lot more respect for him, and made me more upset about his death. When we first found he had died, I felt bad for the characters but I wasn't too attached and it didn't really faze me. But, in learning how good he was to Ben gave me a new sort of respect for him.
The scene where Ben finds Fallon in the club was sad for me, because I was all like; OMG he tracked her down, soo sweet, and he was waiting for hours at that restaurant, OMG Ben! But his approach was really funny. Then we had douche in whale pants, when he said Fallon wasn't that pretty I flipped out.
I loved Ben's connection to Oliver, it was so sweet and affectionate the way he talked about and to him. But, I felt bad for Fallon when she found out about Jordyn
Fallon though, queen of over-reacting. When she found out about the fire: I must run, call a cab, go go go...
When she found out about Jordyn: run to the bathroom, emotional break down, call a cab.
But it was endearing to see how much she cared.
The ending was perfect, and so super sweet, I adored it from head to toe.

Before I go I would just like to take a moment to realise, I guess, that Alan Rickman died today. Alan Rickman, if you don't know, is an actor, who most famously plays Severus Snape in the Harry Potter films. He was aged 69, and died way too young, so we need to keep his memory alive, for as long as possible.
